INTRODUCTORY PHASE

  • Meeting with participant, boss and coach to establish confidentiality, commitment, goals and schedule
  • Personal interview with participant

ASSESSMENT PHASE

  • Management-related personal assessments
  • 360-degree competency and style feedback surveys
  • Interviews with colleagues
  • Shadowing of participant “on the job”

FEEDBACK PHASE

  • Analyze assessment and feedback results for strengths and challenges
  • Integrate results with goals
  • Reaffirm strengths and select developmental targets
DEVELOPMENT AND COACHING PHASE
  • Complete written development plan
  • Discuss plan with boss
  • Try out development strategies “on the job” and get feedback from colleagues
  • On-going coaching, with optional shadowing of participant, up to one year, in person and/or by phone
  • Wrap-up meeting with participant, coach and boss

REASSESSMENT PHASE (optional)

  • Impact/results evaluation, one year or 18 months later 360-degree feedback and/or interview colleagues
  • Compare results with initial assessment and feedback
